Importing photos & storage by plan
How uploads work, encrypted upload unlock, and what happens when you hit your plan storage limit.
What it is
Photos you add to albums count toward your plan storage (Starter includes free storage; Pro and Business include more; add-ons available on paid plans). Encrypted albums encrypt on device before upload — unlock first. When you hit the limit, existing files stay; new uploads are blocked until you free space or upgrade.
Why it helps
Avoid failed uploads and surprise locks by unlocking encrypted albums first and watching your storage meter.
How to use it
- 1
Open an album and use the upload / add photos control on phone or desktop.
- 2
If you see Unlock this encrypted album before uploading photos, unlock with your passphrase or PIN first.
- 3
Check Account Settings / plans for storage used. Free space by deleting unused media or upgrade / add storage on paid plans.
Troubleshooting
- You’ve reached your storage limit
- Existing files are kept. Free space or upgrade to upload more. Shared and member media also count toward the plan.
